Trade-in FAQ
- How do I trade-in my used video games, accessories, hint guides, and other stuff with the Gaming Graveyard?
Use the following simple steps to trade in your game(s) and/or accessories and use the credit immediately
towards a purchase:
- Search for an item or browse through our products to find the item or items you want to trade-in. For the
best results, select 'All Items' at the top right of the store home
and press 'Go!'. This action will allow you to search through all 12,000+ items in our database.
- View the product you want to sell and press the green 'Sell My Copy' button found on the product
page. This action will take you to a page that shows the trade-in requirements for the item you want to trade-in.
- View the trade-in requirements and check the boxes for the required items. Check boxes for any optional items
that you would like to trade-in as well.
- Press the 'Submit Trade' button on this page, and your trade-in will be added to the cart. The trade-in will
show as a negative value in your cart, and will reduce the amount of any balance from products you are ordering. If
you will not be ordering products at this time, we would suggest using our other trade-in system, the
Gaming Graveyard Online Trade System, as
that system will allow you to avoid entering payment information when you are not making a purchase.
- Once you receive your order, simply place your items in the provided pre-addressed envelope or box
that came with your order, and place it in the mail.
- We'll review the items in your trade once we receive them, and once they are approved, we'll compensate
your shipping expenses for up to %10 percent of your trade when your trade-in is over $25.00 in value.
All excess credits not applied to an order will be placed in your Gaming Graveyard account, and may be
used for any future orders, or may be cashed out at the cash exchange rate through PayPal or check.
- Do I have to pay for shipping my trade-in items to you?
- If your total trade-in is $25.00 or more, we'll compensate your shipping up to 10% of your total
trade-in value once we receive and approve your trade-ins. This credit will be applied to your account
and may be used for future purchases or cashed out at any time.
- How long do I have to send in my trade-ins after receiving my order?
- We need to receive your trade-in no more than 10 business days after you receive your order.
If we do not receive the trade-ins by this time, your credit card will be charged for the remaining
balance of your order that your trade-ins would have covered.
- What happens if I don't send in my trade-ins after receiving my order?
- We will bill your credit card for the amount of your order that your trade-ins would have covered. If
you submitted a trade-in but didn't purchase anything, we'll remind you of the trade-in via email, and
should decide to cancel, we'll simply remove the order and any credits that were applied to your account.
- I don't want to make a purchase with my trade-ins. Can I just make a trade-in without
buying anything?
- Yes. Please visit our Online Trade-in System to do so.
Although you can choose to use our shopping cart instead, this will require you to submit payment information, and
may not be as quick of a way to submit multiple games.
- Can I get cash for my games instead of trade-in credit?
- Yes. Once you have logged in
, go to 'My Account' found at the top right of the Storefront, and choose
'View Pending and Completed Trades'. From the control panel on this page, you can convert credit to cash, cash to credit,
and request a payout of any credit you've built up in your account. Payment is made via PayPal or check. Please
note that PayPal payment can be made within 24 hours of verifying your request, while check payments may take 2-3 weeks to process.
- How do I know if you've accepted my items for trade?
- We will send you an email and let you know of our acceptance of your trade. If there are any
problems with the trade-in we will let you know of them at this time, as well as what can
be done to resolve the issues.
- What happens if some of my items are not accepted for trade?
- We will send you an email detailing why your items were not accepted. Items that are not accepted for trade by the Gaming Graveyard due to cosmetic damage,
functional damage, or other reasons may be returned to the customer, though the shipping expense will
be the customer's responsibility. You will need to let us know within 5 business days of whether you
would like your items shipped back to you.
- What items are not accepted for trade-in?
- Trade-in requirements for each item are found on the trade-in details page, which is accessable
through the product view page for each item in our shopping cart.
- Do you accept items for trade that are not listed in your database?
- Yes. Please email us at the Gaming Graveyard
with a brief description of your item including name, system or manufacturer/publisher, and a description
of the items condition. We'll email you a quote within 24 hours of the value of your trade-in. We're
especially interested in video game strategy/hint guides, video game memorabilia, and video game DVD movies,
and can offer premium trade-in values for these items.
- Why do some items show $0.00 for trade-in value?
- Some items in the database may actually be games that were never published (vaporware), or
we have not yet been able to determine a fair-market value for them, but still have the items
in the database. We will certainly accept these items for trade-in, but you'll need to email us
as above to obtain the values for these items.
- Who do I contact for more information on trading in my items?
